Breaking News: Dairy Giant Berglandmilch Increases Animal Welfare Bonus by 3 Cents

Consumers Willing to Pay More for Improved Animal Welfare

Leading dairy producer Berglandmilch has announced a significant increase in its animal welfare bonus, a move that comes in response to growing consumer demand for ethically sourced dairy products.

Bonus Raised to 0.55 Cents per Liter

Previously offering an average bonus of 0.55 cents per liter of milk, Berglandmilch will now pay a 3-cent bonus from July onwards. This substantial increase aims to incentivize farmers to invest in practices that promote the well-being of their animals.

This bonus hike follows a recent report by the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture, which found that consumers are increasingly willing to pay a premium for products that meet higher animal welfare standards.

Berglandmilch's decision is also aligned with the European Union's Common Agricultural Policy, which prioritizes investments in sustainable farming practices that improve animal welfare.
