Akron, Ohio (July 3, 2022) - A disturbing new investigation by CNN has revealed the shocking extent of police violence in the fatal shooting of Jayland Walker, a 25-year-old Black man from Akron, Ohio.

Walker was killed on June 27, 2022, at approximately 12:30 am, after Akron police officers fired more than 60 rounds at his vehicle following a brief chase. The shooting has sparked widespread outrage and protests, with many calling for accountability from the police.

Body camera footage released by the police department shows that the officers initially attempted to pull Walker over for a traffic violation. However, Walker refused to stop, and a high-speed chase ensued. The chase ended when Walker's vehicle became disabled on a residential street.

At that point, the officers approached Walker's vehicle and fired multiple rounds into it. Walker was pronounced dead at the scene.
