Boston Holds Slight Edge in Eastern Conference Semifinals
Despite Losing Game 2, Bruins Still Lead Series 2-1
The Florida Panthers rallied from a 3-2 deficit to defeat the Boston Bruins 6-3 in Game 2 of their Eastern Conference semifinals series on Wednesday. The victory evens the series at 1-1 heading into Game 3 in Florida on Friday.
Brandon Montour sparked the Panthers' third-period resurgence with a power-play goal at 6:23 of the period. Carter Verhaeghe followed up with a goal just over two minutes later, and Anton Lundell gave the Panthers their first lead of the game with a goal at 12:03.
The Bruins responded with a goal from Erik Haula at 15:23, but Aleksander Barkov sealed the victory for the Panthers with an empty-net goal with just over a minute remaining.
The Bruins will look to regain the lead in the series when they host the Panthers in Game 3 on Friday night. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET.
