Animal Control Officers Join Citrus County Sheriff's Office

The Citrus County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) has announced that Animal Control Officers (ACOs) will now be joining their team. ACOs will be responsible for enforcing animal-related laws, investigating animal cruelty cases, and responding to calls for service involving animals.
This partnership between the CCSO and Citrus County Animal Services is intended to improve animal welfare and public safety in the county. ACOs will have the authority to issue citations, seize animals, and make arrests in cases of animal abuse or neglect.
The CCSO and ACOs will work together to provide a comprehensive animal control service for the community. Animal Services will continue to provide animal care and adoption services, while the CCSO will focus on enforcing animal control laws and responding to emergencies.
